Photographs
Prints and digital masters taken from the original glass plates of this period are capable of giving great detail, beyond the lower resolution reproduction in books. If you want to scrutinise the detail I thoroughly recommend purchasing your own copies direct from the museums.The National Railway Museum/Science & Society Picture Library and The Sussex Archaeological Society have kindly allowed me to reproduce low resolution images of some of the images I have collected.
